In education, we have cycles to how we teach. We plan, we teach, and we reflect. I think that would be good for this new journey. What worked last time and why didn't it stick?
The last time I lost all the weight, I was pretty much on a strict Keto diet. I counted macros and whatnot. I obsessed over every bite of food that went in my mouth. While that led to a great loss of weight in a short amount of time, it was not realistic to live on forever.
I do know that sugar and lots of carbs for me just does not work. But it's unrealistic to think that I will never have carbs. I just have to limit where possible. I know that at home, that will be easier because I can control what I purchase and keep in my reach.
However, not everyone in my home eats like I do so there are always going to be things I do not want to eat around the house. I must keep snacks and foods accessible to me that fit my eating habits now. A trip to Aldi yesterday yielded a much different-looking shopping cart! I grabbed items that fit within my eating plan that were both healthy and easy.
My afternoon snack/lunch consisted of Halloumi Fries prepared in the air fryer, olives, and parmesan crisp, and two glasses of water. This held me nicely until dinner and it was all things I enjoy eating.
Dinner, I had sauerkraut and kielbasa. I used 1/3 of a link of kielbasa and sauteed until brown with 1/2 small onion and then added the sauerkraut until warm. I added a little stone-ground mustard for dipping. It was delicious!

The kielbasa and sauerkraut look amazing. One of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI am the only person in my house that will eat sauerkraut so it works out well for me!
